Sister, Sister!

A couple weekends ago, Wren watched the babe while my sisters and I headed to City Creek.  It just so happened that Wren's sister Eden was down there too, and had very much been down there with a friend for seven hours, NBD.  I'd have been begging for someone to put me to sleep, but whatev.  She was a trooper and completed our sisterhood!
After spending about an hour too long in Anthropologie (RAY!), lots of self timed pictures in the dressing room, scoring some major deals, and getting terribly lost in the parking lot (I'll never learn to look) later, we called it a night.
Partay like it's 1999.
And speaking of Sister, Sister, how many of you guys used to watch that show?  I did.  Almost liked it as much as Sweet Valley High.  Sara just introduced me to the brilliance of the new Tia and Tamara show and I'm 100% addicted to it.  Wren's like, "What do you like about this show?"  I'm like, "EVERYTHING!"  Any other addicts out there?

Weekend of Much Emotion

The entire weekend I carried a pit in my stomach for the lives lost last Friday in Connecticut.  There are so many different thoughts running through my head.  Fear, sadness, I just can't even imagine losing my child period, but in that way is just unthinkable.  I really can't think about it.  It's too horrific.  Our prayers have gone out to the families.  I don't know if you ever heal from something like that though?  I couldn't.  Radcliff was stuck to my hip the entire weekend.  I feel so fortunate to still have my baby, but guilty at the same time for even having that thought.
On a happier note, we had lots of quality family time this weekend.  It's so great, babies have a way of bringing family together, don't they?  In our case, because everyone's way more obsessed with our baby than they are us.  We understand guys, he's pretty special :)  We had the pleasure of:
*Getting Emmy all to ourselves for a day (Radcliff is SMITTEN)
*A hang out date with Benson, Em, and our cute grandma
*Shopping with my sisters for our dad and brother's Christmas gifts
*Feeding Radcliff carrots and broccoli for the first time (he's still in shock I think)
*Spending time with Wren admiring how stinking sweet and cute our baby is.  He's the only person who truly cares hearing me say things like, "Don't you love this face?" or, "Can you even stand how cute this noise is?"  We could go on all day and night over things we love about him.
*Hanging out with my brother and sisters on Sunday night to see my sweet grandma who is in the hospital.  We hope she is feeling better today.
Have a happy Monday everyone!

An Autumn Walk

Last night, my sister Rache graced us with her presence on a walk in this brisk fall weather.  We discovered the funnest paved trail right by our house!  Love discovering those.  Now we can safely pull Radcliff in our bike trailer.  Bonus.  Anyway, Radcliff was a lucky little man who got to be carried by his cute auntie for a bit.  That is until he become famished and needed food.  This is when we discovered the single most amazing thing yet.  I can feed him while he's in the Lulu Wrap.  WHAT?  Yes.  It's amazing, and he loved it, and then passed out in there.  I highly recommend it :)
PS  Aren't we LOVING this brisk fall weather?
Yes.
Goodbye to the summer that nearly killed me.

4 Things of Mention from the Weekend...

1.  Baby sister Kate went to her VERY first FORMAL dance this weekend... SWEETHEARTS!
She only had 30 minutes between her day activity and the dance, so Rache and I ran over and pulled out the BIG guns!
It was stressful, but we got her done, and she looked GORGEOUS!
Sad Kate...  You're growing up!

2.  We are on the house hunt and this majestically groovy house is one we had the pleasure of going through...
Yes, that's.. count em... ONE, TWO, THREE colors of carpet.  Reminds me of the four corners...
Each room comes featured with it's own unique set of wood paneling to add a classy touch.
Don't even tell me the built in tissue holder isn't the most awesome thing you've laid your eyes on...
Yes, those are pheasants...
And you KNOW I'm dying over this animal print wall.
It was simply fantastic.

3.  We sat at my parents, in the same spot, for I'd say SEVEN hours talking and eating all the while.
My dad made a mean meat, that sat in his Egg for a full 24 hours, as well as homemade ice cream.
It was delicious.

4.  I went to a Mac makeup party and everything was like 50% off.  I still am trying to figure out if it's too good to be true.
I got all of this...
(I love the purple eye shadow the most)
...for like $50.  I know, insane right? All of this would have been close to, if not more than, $100.
If I host one of these parties, would you come???

Let me know!

Hope you had a great weekend as well!

Tomorrow we are having the CUTEST giveaway!  I could die.  It has to do with chubby babies and what they wear...
So make sure to check back!!!
PLUS last week's giveaway winner for the Local Giving Tree will be announced as well!

Dinner at La Caille

Last Christmas my parents gave us kiddos gift certificates to La Caille, one of the nicest restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley.  So it was a fun excuse for my sisters and Wren and I to get dressed up and eat somewhere we've never been to and will probably never go to again :)  The food was honestly, to die for.  Everything had so much flavor, and Wren was on cloud nine.  They kept bringing out more and more food.  It was insane!  When we first walked in and sat down, the laughter began.  No one was talking in the restaurant, classical music was playing, we didn't know how to pronounce ONE thing on the menu, and the table we sat at was HUGE so we couldn't hear each other talk.  I couldn't even look at my sisters without all of us dying of laughter.  Wren said, "I don't EVER want to be classy."  Which made us laugh even harder.  And the funniest part of the night?  When my sister plowed over like five cones leading to the parking lot.  She said the valet guys were laughing so hard at her.  Wren, my other sister, and I parked after Rache (the sister who knocked the cones over) had got there and I was like, "Is that a cone stuck under her car?"  Sure enough, a bright green cone, bent in half, was lodged under her engine.  Wren was her hero and climbed under and pulled it out.
I don't think we can even pretend to be classy.
But it was such a fun experience and next time someone talks about La Caille, in my most sophisticated voice, I'll be like, "Oh yes, La Caille, what a charming place to eat indeed.  The food... it's just so succulent."
I'll have them fooled :)

Oh and it's the LAST day to enter the Vintage Underground giveaway!  It ends tonight!
