You in the mood to be NAUGHTY too?

Guys.  I'm being honest when I say I have discovered the best, and the chewiest, and probably the unhealthiest chocolate chip cookie recipe out there.  Sunday turned into one of those gray, luxurious, snowy days where Wren and I were feeling particularly bad...  Radcliff's nap was turning into a three hour event (bless that child!) and we came to the happy realization that we just so happened to have all of the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies.  And so we just kind of went with it.  I did what any normal bakee would do and googled chocolate chip cookies and Google was a peach and went and delivered this gem.  Merci Martha.
The only thing I did differently was add an extra tablespoon of sea salt (yes, the crunch counts!) and really, who doesn't love their chocolate chip cookies extra salty?
I'd be lying if I said we didn't stop eating them until we 100% hated ourselves.
Anyway, two days later they are still incredibly soft and still incredibly alluring/haunting.
Have I sold you yet?

Wren's Sweet Potato Fries

This little chef...
...knows how to make a mean yet healthy sweet potato fry :)
If you love sweet potato fries as much as this cat, here is the recipe for you.
(All pictures shot by, none other than, the chef pictured above when he made them the other night.
Just love him!)
RECIPE
-Pre-heat the oven to 375 and set a large baking sheet inside to warm up
-Get a couple YAM potatoes (why they call them sweet potato fries is beyond me, you don't use sweet potatoes, you use yams)
-Slice them up like so...
-Once the pan is hot, take a spoonful of coconut oil and drop it on the pan, it should melt really fast.  Then tilt the pan every which way to get the oil to spread over all areas of the pan.
-Now lay the potatoes out all over the pan like this.  You want each slice to be touching the pan and oil.
 -Then sprinkle these...
 -And sugar...
...over the top of all the potato slices.
(Could you die over how Wren spilled the sugar for the picture!!!???  Ha!)
-Place potatoes in oven for about 15 minutes, after 15 minutes, take them out and flip them over, and cook for about 15 more minutes.
-Once they are soft they are done!
AND WALA!
They are SO good and even better when dipped in fry sauce...
Thanks for documenting this Wren!

I Made Some Macaroons...

So can I just say I feel silly talking about blogging, especially to people who don't blog.  They look at me with sort of this blank stare like I'm crazy.  And that's okay.  It is kind of crazy.  But you know what's the most awesome thing ever?  All of the amazing friends I have made through blogging.  I bet I could go to a lot of places around THE WORLD and know someone relatively close, just because of my blog.
My blogging buddies are the BEST.
I love you guys more than you know!

Alycia (check out her blog, it's AWESOME!) one of my great blogging friends invited me to a macaroon baking class on Friday.
I was so excited to be invited since these classes aren't cheap!

Aren't they adorable!?
And they are basically the most amazing things I have ever tried.  Ever.
The best part is, we got to take our own little box of the macaroons home that she we made (Wren was happy), as well as a macaroon baking kit from Mercedes, the adorable girl who taught the class.  I would highly recommend ANYONE purchasing her class or her macaroon baking kit HERE.
Macaroons are perfect for baby showers and birthday parties.
And people will look at you like you're insane since you made them.
See, because of crazy blogging I now know how to make macaroons.
Cool :)

The Holidays...& Whatever, Whenever, Wednesday Link Up!

I was looking through Pinterest yesterday (which I normally do not do, it's just way too overwhelming for me, but nonetheless I did) and I spotted TONS of cute stuff that I thought would be so fun for the holidays...
With Thanksgiving only a couple days away, I had to share.

Are these shoes not the cutest things... EVER?
They are.  Even Santa would be tryin to catch my eye :)
We are making desert for a Holiday party this year, do I dare try these?
They are pretty adorable and Wren's family would be thinking, "Oh my gosh, Savannah, what a domestic wife Wren has."  I'd have them fooled and I'd feel cool.  If I can pull them off that is.  Maybe I'll outsource and claim they're mine ;)
Love this dress.
Would have no where in the world to wear it to, but still a nice idea that one day I might.
When I'm famous ;)
Fun little spin off of white tips, perfect for the holidays.
Normally I wear earrings that are large and in charge, but these little studs... are studs.
I love me some peppermint, especially this time of year.  My mother-in-law's Baked Alaska is pretty much to die for.
I would imagine these would taste similar.
I thought about maybe attempting these for the holiday party, for like a fragment of a second, and then I threw that idea out fast  Who am I kidding.  This would completely push me over the edge.
Love these brown nails.  So fun for Thanksgiving.  Too bad they don't have this color in Shellac, because this would start chipping off a day after spending an hour painting it.
Why is nail polish so crappy like that?
Nail polish, you have the right to remain cute for a day, and then super annoying for a week after.
 LOVE this green coat.
This whole outfit is so fun.  Again, no where in the world to wear it to...
Maybe to Cafe Rio? ;)
Aren't these silver shoes fun?  I could be Santa's little helper.

And last but not least, I'm getting these slippers and wearing them all year long.
And Wren will love me even more and won't be embarrassed or ashamed by me in the least :)
Have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING if I don't post before then!

Now for the link up party!

Island Way Sorbet and My Dad's Love for Grocery Stores

I have another beloved from Costco guys...
May I Say,
Island Way Sorbet?
I'm feeling very poetic today...
But really, have you tried em?  They are the coolest new things since padded bras.
They have four delectable sorbet flavors and they come in these fun little fruit shells.

Another fun find from my dear Daddy.
Side Note:
Have I ever told you of my Dad's love for the grocery store?  It's deep.  Grocery stores are where most my childhood memories were made.
My Dad has been known but not limited to:
*Every single one of my friends seeing him at one grocery store or another, I get texts all the time saying, "Just saw your dad", I don't even bother to ask where anymore because I already know.
*Going to Harmon's when I was younger like everyday and knowing all the workers there.  One night he brought my mom in and everyone clapped and said, "Mrs. Knudson, we finally get to meet you!"
*Going through stages where he'll love Harmon's and then he'll switch and love Costco and he'll stay there for hours making friends.  My mom knows if he is no where to be found, he'll be at the grocery store.  For three hours.  True story.  It's his part time dream job.
*When I was little and couldn't sleep, I remember going into my parents bedroom at 2:00am and my dad saying, "Let's go to Harmon's Sannah!"  And off we'd go.  I took Brach's candy to a whole new level.
*My friend Michelle called me one time saying, "Okay I just your dad walking out of Walmart pushing his cart with a huge smile on his face and a skip to his walk."
So it's true.
He loves grocery stores guys.
Grocery Stores+My Dad=True Love.
And let's not even get started on what my mom calls his Suzy Q Routine with his apron on, bustling around the kitchen with a huge grin, flailing his hands he's so pleased, and cooking ten times the amount of food we could ever eat as a family.
We'll save that story for a different day.
BUT back to my little dream machines.
I love them.
You can even eat them and pretend you're sitting on the beach, and as Sublime once said, that it's "summer time and the livin's easy, Bradley's on the microphone with Rad-MG".
PS Don't you think my mom should advertise for Island Way Sorbet?
I do.

Blogging Party at Dear Lizzie

Friday night my cute blogging friend Gentri arranged a big blogging party with all her blog friends.  Wow, blog, blog, blog, blog.  I'll say it again.  Blog :)
She hosted it at Dear Lizzie in Alpine, the cutest little bakery on the block.  It was set up so cute and everyone got 15% off their purchase at the adorable little boutique.
It's funny because Gentri and I email seriously like five times a day but we had never even met in person.  I felt like we were already great friends, so actually meeting her face-to-face was seriously awesome.  And every single girl there was amazing.  I was nervous to meet that many new girls, but I loved every last one.  I felt I had instant connections with tons of them and know I will want to hang out with them again for sure.
If they'll have me :)
Sara don't hate me....
Look at all those cute babes!
Photobucket
Gentri and Ashley arranged fun drawings from the surrounding businesses.  They're awesome :)
After Dear Lizzie kindly kicked us out, a bunch of us header over to Kneaders to eat and talk.  We stayed from 7:00 until 10:30.  Yes Kneaders closes at 10:00 and yes they probably wanted to stab us because we just plain outwore our welcome time-wise and annoyance-wise.  I can honestly say I have not laughed that hard in a LONG time.  I couldn't even breathe.  We talked about anything and everything under the sun, if you catch my drift.
This blondie Alycia has the right to remain H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S!  No joke.  I STILL can't get over the things she said.
And Jenna and I still hopped up on who knows what, partied it up on the ride home....

Thanks for coming with me Jenna!
I have to say how incredible starting this little blog has been for me.  I have met so my amazing people through it, and actually meeting some of them in person was even better :)
Thanks again Gentri!
