A Man Child's Birthday!

Happy birthday to the only man who can sport an afghan, crochet hooks, and yoga pants. The song, "I like big butts and I cannot lie..." comes to mind as I scroll through these pics. Good thing its rock solid! :)
I love you more than you'll ever know Wren, and am so thankful for you and your ability to always keep me on my toes with your witty charm!
Let's go partay today! :)

Men and Their Lack of Agendas and Why I'm Bitter of That + Link Up!

We took these pictures the other day in the park on our anniversary and are shocked at how good they turned out! Go tripod. Wren surprised me with a 50mm lens and I am so obsessed. To anyone looking for a reasonably priced and fun lens... get the 50!
Being the only female in this house, as of late, has had me thinking a lot about boys, their behavior, and how incredibly hilarious they are. So simple. So much simpler than girls. At least over here. No hidden meanings, no assumptions... They just are. I guess we can't really count Big Cliff in this because he's still a little squirt, but Wren? I mean you, man.
The other day, Wren and Radcliff were off to run a few errands and I noticed Wren was not holding a single item on his way out the door. Nothing! No diapers, no wipes, no blanket, no change of clothes, no baby snacks... At first I looked at him like, "Is he insane?" And then I thought, "No. He's a him, and he's simple and as perplexing as it can be, I kind of love it!" May the force be with you in your endeavors if he should have a blow out honey! I'll be home taking a bath in silence. I realized I will never know what it feels like to walk out the door with absolutely nada.
Or put this in your pipe and smoke it. We have our nightly routine and it's the same as it always is. I rush to wash my face and brush my teeth hours before we even go to bed so I don't have to dread it all night. Well after we do retire to the bedroom for the night, we'll lay down and talk until we're tired. I'll go to turn off the lamp thinking he'll roll over and go to sleep with me. Nope. The guy still has to get up, shower and brush his teeth. The whole nine yards. But here's the clencher... Every single solitary time he steps into bed after he's showered, and I mean every time, he asks me for lotion. And every single solitary time my answer is the same. "No." So he'll have to walk back to the bathroom (where it is every single solitary time without fail, and where he just was, mind you) to get it. Why not put it on right after you dry your body off while you're still in the bathroom like your wife does???
Or this is funny and mostly happened before we had Radcliff because Wren is such a huge help with him. But whenever we get home from somewhere I always have to unsettle a bit. I am either taking off my jewelry, going to the bathroom, washing my hands, putting what I was wearing away, I don't know, getting a drink of water. Something. Nope, not Wren. He would just head straight to the computer. Like beeline from the door to it. Like I don't even know if he took his shoes off (which is the rule, duh!?) All the guy had to worry about was what funny thing was about pop up on IMGUR next or what Mountain Bike was just posted to Pink Bike. Then we had a baby and the vacation ended. Sorry honey.
Long story short. I always have an agenda, and he always doesn't. And you know what? I think it's downright rude because I don't want on either.
Give my an M for MEN! Because we just have to love them even when we hate them for it! Because let's be honest... It's better than a crazy woman, hands down, any day!

Us In All Our Glory and Wren Blackmail Videos!

I think I have posted less in the past couple weeks than I ever have since I started this blog.  Normally I am the get up, shower, get your house clean type of girl.  But lately, this pure laziness has swept over me (maybe I have a little bout of what Wren had on Valentines Day?) and I've had absolutely, positively no motivation to do anything.  Getting our house clean took most of the day and showering came no earlier than 3:00 in the afternoon.  Why you ask?  Because Radcliff and I had better things to do like sleeping in until 10:30, laying in bed all day nursing and cuddling (he is the cuddliest right now!), hanging out in our pajamas or if we were feeling particularly lethargic- naked (him people, I'm not that lazy), and talking in insanely crazy voices all day to my little monster.  And you know what?  It's been just what the doctor ordered.  This seven and a half month old thing is pretty much heaven.  He's happy all day, sleeping and napping like a champ, can sit up, and loves to play and laugh!  I want to enjoy every second of it.  The house and hygiene will unfortunately always be there.  His seven and a half month old self will not.  Sadly!

So here's us in all our glory...
We aren't embarrassed one bit.

Also... apparently I have three different Vimeo accounts, two of which I completely forgot about, and I was going through old videos today and found these gems.  Two words for you.  Cool Cat.  My husband is such a sister.  I love hims.

This video (more of a recording) was taken while Wren was in the shower.  You guys should here the songs and voices he does while he's showering.  It's entertaining to say the least.
He's going to kill me but here's one to get your Monday rolling...

And here's some other randoms that I think are hysterical.  But it could be because I'm married to him?
(LOVE that he's holding my high heels in this one)
Here's to me, because I could be dead later.
Happy Monday!

December 20, 2012. Eleven YEARS???

Well it has officially been eleven years since Wren asked me to be his girlfriend.  Member this post?  Read it if you haven't, not only does it explain the cutest story of the most precious little boy wearing his heart on his sleeve, but it's a hilarious.  I used to be funnier... Then I went and had a baby, and let's be honest, who in their right mind has time to be funny with one a them things on their arm?
So what better way to celebrate today then sharing some direct quotes from the one and only Wren?  There's little that is, so here we go.
Awhile back, we were driving to look at a house (I just shuttered).  Wren was driving and the speed limit was around 40 mph.  Well Wren likes to do this attractive thing where he cuts the speed limit in half and drives at that speed.  It's really cool of him.  Actually I really like it now that we have a baby, but every once in awhile when we're running late to our destination it's absolutely mandatory to go the speed limit.  Back to the story though.  I look over and I see he's only going 20 mph.  So sarcastically, I says to him, I says, "Woah, don't go too fast."  He looks over with the most confused look and screeches, "I'm only going 20!"
B-d-d-d-d-ch.
Sometimes I threaten that if he's not nice I'm not going to get up with Radcliff the next time he wakes up in the middle of the night.  I'll tell him it's going to be all him.  One time Wren said, "Okay so you're telling me...  I'm going to have to go get him out of his crib, heat up a cup of water, wait while your frozen milk heats up, and then hold the bottle the entire time he drinks it, when you on the other hand can just slap him on and fall asleep?"  Yes honey, yes.  That's what I'm telling you.  Get prepared.
One time his beady little eyes fell fast asleep on the couch but before drifting off into his deep slumber, he was crying about how hot it was because of my heater.  I refused to turn it off though.  As Kanye once said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?  Fast forward an hour into his nap, he wakes up and rises like the dead guy from his casket in Hocus Pocus and screams, "ALLLLL I DOOOOO IS SWEEEEEEAAAAAAT!"  And I laughed, dismissed it, and left the heater on ;)
He left his phone at home the other day, and right as we walked in the door he ran to his beloved to see what calls he had missed.  As he looks at his phone, his face turns sad and says, "The only person who called or texted me today was you."  I know many a male suitors who'd a been happy to see this spring chicken's name show up on their phone ;) ;) ;)
And last, I like to force Wren to take baths with me in our tiny little tub.  Well we were sitting there one night and I turned around to look at him because he seemed to be drifting in and out of consciousness.  He's sitting straight up (no relaxing in the tub over here), staring straight at the wall, with the most hilarious face I have ever seen.  I said, "Okay you're having way too much fun back there."  He said, "It's like a bad meeting.  I'm sweating to death and wondering when it's going to be over."
Again, b-d-d-d-d-ch.
So happy I said yes to your baby face and 21 roses eleven years ago Jib Jab!
I'm expecting a treat and flowers when you get home.  You owe me that!

Wren Chronicles Edition II

Okay before we get to this post, I just HAD to share this incredible story!  Mrs. G just linked this blog post up to my blog yesterday and I am still shocked after reading it.  You MUST read it.
It truly is a miracle right?  So glad he's okay!

Now, are you ready for the SECOND Wren Chronicles?
If you're new to my blog, welcome :) AND Wren Chronicles is a recap of all the crazy and insane things my husband does/says.  So if you're so inclined.  Stay, read, and laugh.  He's a funny one.  And if you missed the first Wren Chronicles, you can go here to see it.

*Wren says I look like a Japanese samurai soldier when I wear my hair like this...
He says my eyebrows really help add to the illusion too.  I was like, "Whatever.  You're rude."  And he was like, "Google it.  You do."
So that I did.  And I am slightly depressed...
...because he's kind of right.

*In other news, after he got home from Moab, he told me he saw a lady there in a gas station with breast hair.  I was like, "NO!"  Then he's like, "Oh wait I mean armpit hair...."  Okay HUGE difference there honey.  Then he said, "And then at another gas station we saw a girl with a huge mustache!  And the weird thing is, I think she was proud of it.  AND that's okay!  That's cool she's proud."
Wow.  Stay classy Moab.  Stay classy Wren.

*We were driving in the car the other day and I was blowing my nose when all of a sudden Wren jumped so high and started looking around.  I was like, "What?!"  And he was all, "Someone just honked at us!"  "No honey, that was just your sweet & delicate wife blowing her nose.  Calm yourself"
I'm special.  He's special.

*I had a really cute girl send me candy from Germany.  There were these little candy things that barely pop in your mouth when you chew them (remember the word barely).  Well I gave one to Wren (like feeding candy to a baby).  He put it in his mouth, started to chew, I hear a "pop", and then he jumped and screamed, "Woah!  WHAT!?" in the most frightened tone ever and then started to choke.  I wish I had his facial expression documented.  It was priceless.  He easily scares, this one.
And nothing is as funny to me.  Not even when he slips and falls.  Well actually, maybe when he slips and falls.

*And then, again, I was on another "menstrual psycho active behavior" as Wren calls it when I typed this email to him the other day.  I'm scared for myself...

"Okay do you have the freakin citi-bank credit card with you?  Since you deleted everything I can't find the password or login to it anywhere.  I called in and they can't even give it to me, I'm going to kill someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have it, what's the 3 digit code on the back?  I'm restaring my folder.  You're not the one who has to pay the bills so you're not the one who has been figuring stupid passwords out ALL DAY LONG!"

I'm a raging lunatic.  BUT in my defense, Wren deleted this folder I created in my email to save all of our hundreds of logins.  Yet this is what I relied on to remember info for websites to pay and view our bills.  Well since he deleted it AND obviously I was not thinking clearly, I spent, no joke, like 3 hours trying to get ONE password.  It was beyond pathetic.  And there were tears.  Wow my blood pressure is going up just typing this.  It was a BAD day, let's just say that.  But don't you worry your pretty little self, Savy's fine today.

Well here's the funny part of this scenario; Wren's email back to me...

"Sorry Savannah,

As we can both see you are a bit hormonal which is okay J.  Just realize that you shouldn’t save that stuff in your email especially the savings!!! You can make a folder with any name you want, but it would be easy for someone to hack the email and have all of that information.  I can send you a thousand articles that say NOT to do that.

Let’s talk about your email.  That is pretty funny if you asked me.  I am a simple phone call away, yet you decided to call customer service and get frustrated.  Why?  In order to make menstrual psycho active behavior even worse? Ha ha, calling customer service with monthly rage is a bad idea.  I hope this makes you smile cause it sounds like you could use it.

Yours Truly,
Wrentacula, who hides passwords to make your life worse.  That was totally my intentions!"

As mad at him as I was yesterday.  I sure do LOVE him :)

Way to keep me smiling Wrentacula!

Sad Day....

I am kind of sad today.....
Here's why:
First off, my beloved long sleeve gray shirt that I am practically obsessed with and was so excited to wear now that the weather is getting cooler had an unfortunate mishap in the washing machine....
WTF?!
So depressed....

Next, I have been looking for a vintage looking couch like this for forever....
I LOVE the curvy back.
Throw some bright modern pillows on it and we'd have ourselves a masterpiece!
It was a killer deal at RC Willey since someone returned it.
When I took Wren to see it though....
...he said he couldn't envision himself being comfortable on it.
Bummer.
My dream was slaughtered.

And last, Wren left to go mountain biking in Moab.
I don't know why I get so sad.
I got teary when I said bye to him and he'll only be gone a night!
Geeeeez.
I'll miss him for reasons like this....
He's my entertainment.
This is him imitating Steve Powell.  Apparently this guy has a whole website under the alias of Steve Chantrey consisting of songs he wrote.
"I can love you in a secret way...."?????
SUPER CREEPY if you ask me.
Here is his website if you'd like to take a listen.
My heart goes out to Susan Powell and her children, seriously it's so sad.

Well this was a depressing post.
Good news though! Fun fun girls night plans tonight.
I'm ready to PARTAY and turn this frown upside down!
Have a good weekend!

Wren Chronicles, Chapter I

So my husband is crazy.  Really crazy.  Good crazy.  He's hilarious in every way possible.  I could have a blog about JUST him.  So I think once a month, maybe more depending on the quality material at hand, I am going to showcase a couple of blunders, funny moments, conversations, or happenstances of the man I have the pleasure of calling mine.

To start this party off right here is a little video of him floppin around.  I had just told him I found a killer song and wanted to have him hear it.  Right as I turned it on, he busted these pretty moves out:
Classy right?  That was the re-enacted version, the first version was much funnier.
Had more soul.

I just love this guy....
One other little tidbit today about the lovely Wren-Froo-King-Of-The-Mountain:
Wren is growing his luscious waves out right now.  He has minor major meltdowns in the morning because he doesn't know what to do with it.  Drama at the Withers' abode (K I just realized for the first time in three and a half years of marriage, my last name now ends with an "S", how do I make my last name possessive? Mhhh.)  For any of you who know Wren, he has the curliest, cutest hair on the planet (I have curly hair too; our babies are going to be some dark haired froes to be reckoned with I tell you what, I'm already thinking up hairstyles that can tame them :)) ANYWAY, I was feeling like a nice wife and a bit "hair" inspired (which rarely happens) so I BEGGED him to let me give him a blow out.  He was so desperate he actually agreed.  So I blow dried and palmaded the crap outta that sucker.  I do have to say he looked very charming.  He looked like a business man, all he needed was a blue tooth and a briefer and he'd be set :)
I told him all the ladies would be trying to catch his eye today.
To say the least, I was pleased with the masterpiece I created.

Later throughout the day, I wondered how it had been holding up.  If it had gone "clownish" or "80s cop", i.e....
as he calls it....

I emailed him, "How's the hair-did holdin up?"

He said, "Hair got weird.  It looks really bad in bright light."

Well there ya have it.  His hair looks bad in bright light.

I sure do love this guy :)
