What Happens When You Listen to Angels in the City

^^^
Check out all my ribbons and bows... And pay especially close attention to the pretty one on the top of my head. Jelly?
^^^
Our boots? How have I always been in style??? ;)

How adorable was my baby sister Kate? Something about her reminds me of Radcliff.
As I opened the glove box this morning to find something good to listen to, I was pleasantly surprised to see my old City of Angels soundtrack facing right up at me. I popped it in and when Alanis Morrisette's, Uninvited, and then Goo Goo Dolls', Iris (Iris always was and will always be my number one favorite song) came on  I was immediately taken back to my 6th/7th grade years of school when my family lived in Federal Heights. We moved around the valley a lot, but I'd have to say that my fondest memories were made while living there. I started recalling a lot of them on my drive as I blasted the songs. Like how in 3rd and 4th grade, I became a UTA bus extraordinaire. I'd get the UTA maps and call into UTA (because of course it was before internet days) and get the routes of everywhere I'd like to go in the Salt Lake Valley. After all, I'd be taking my six year old little sister with me... I had to protect her! We'd ride the bus to visit my dad at work, zip over to Crossroads Mall, and then over to both of my Grandma's houses. My Grandmas almost had heart attacks at the fact that their adorable, young, naive little granddaughters were riding the UTA bus in downtown Salt Lake City, with all of the many different varieties of people. But I was like, "Hey, I'm pro. Stop worrying. And let's be clear about something... I'm not naive." I wasn't. Still not. Don't ever say it ;) Other highlights while living in Federal Heights... Heading to Fort Douglas to swim and getting their award winning grilled cheese sandwiches. Kind of living at Crossroads Mall with my Dad and siblings. Crossroads Mall and the ZCMI Center will always have a fond place in my heart. I can still remember where every single store was in both malls, and can smell Chik-Fil-A, Cinnabon, and Orange Julius from the food courts just thinking about it. Those were our places. My mom taught us to sew, play the piano, and sing in that house. She would make potato chowder for us while we watched our shows after school and I'd go on walks at night with her up and down Arlington Drive (my favorite road ever, I will live there one day again.) I remember listening to James Taylor and my dad's favorite, Chumbawambas's, Tubthumping (we're still kind of embarrassed for him on that one, even though I'm listening to it right now, "He drinks a whiskey drink, he drinks a vodka drink, he sings the songs that remind him of the good times, he sings a song that reminds him of the bad times..." ) driving around in my Dad's bright yellow Defender and ordering pizzas and going to Blockbuster all the time. Those really were the days. Why do we have to grow up so fast? I hope I can provide such fun memories to Radcliff and my kids.

Wren? I'm glad I didn't listen to your nonsense when you so rudely (and it was way rude) suggested I discard my CD collection when we moved. Was he temporarily insane? My hundreds of CD's are my babies. And who doesn't want to take a trip back in time when busting them out? Especially when it dates back to the 90's? I loved the 90's.

Oh and speaking of past decades. The 80's were kind to my parents...
THEY KILLED IT.

There Once Were Two...

Imagine that?
Isn't it funny how a baby completely and utterly changes everything?  Nothing in life is the same...  I was totally prepared for the little changes in our life such as the day to day routine or how much sleep we would wouldn't be getting.  But I never could have anticipated the bigger changes within myself.  Like the way I would think about the world differently or the difference in the way I could love would be.  Sometimes when I'm cradling Radcliff and he's just finished eating, he'll look up at me and give me the biggest and most wondrous smile.  He'll stare up in my eyes, sometimes for five, ten minutes straight.  It's like he's trying to figure out who I really am.  Moments like these have got to be the single best thing I, or any mother, can experience.  I try and remember these times when I realize we can't just zip out the door to Cafe Rio anymore, or stay up late watching movies.
Because those things don't even matter.  Nothing compares to the love I have for my baby.
Where have you been all this time Radcliff?
You're here now so give us an R!
Now on a lighter note, anyone member this video?  Who didn't love MK and Ash?
Anyway, Wren showed me this slowed down version...
...so creepy, yet so catchy.

On Staying Home With Radcliff...

Woah!  Sorry for the picture overload of us, I just think Cliffy Man looks so scrumptious in all of them I had to share!   Isn't he filling out quite nicely?  LOVE those fat little thighs.
I am feeling so terribly thankful today that I am able to stay home with my baby.  I know being a stay at home mom is not for everyone, but for me, it's exactly what I've always wanted to be.  I don't think I ever even realized this until I had Radcliff.  I had always hoped I would get to stay home with my kids one day, but never anticipated just how much I would enjoy and love it.  I went to cosmetology school way back when, didn't love doing that.  I graduated from something in college that I've often looked back on and wondered if I'll ever even use that either.  I've worked jobs that I never loved, and just always wondered when and where I would find my niche.  I know I have found it in staying home with Radman.  It truly is the best  and most rewarding thing to me.
I think I've been thinking a lot  about this lately because I will be working just one day a week at my pervious job for a little extra money.  My sweet and adorable mother in law is going to watch Radcliff, and although I know he is going to be completely spoiled and so well taken care of by his Mema Hoo Hoo, it's still going to be so hard for me to say goodbye to him for eight hours.  I don't know if I'll be able to do it come Monday.
But anyway, I'm so grateful to a husband who is such a hard worker and who let's me stay home with this babe.  Things are definitely tight right now, but it's so worth it to us.  We have a roof over our heads, food on the table, and most importantly each other.
That's all we need right?

Man Jobs & Boy Things + Link Up!

Shirt: Anne Taylor
Pants: Forever21
Boots: Nordstrom?
In lieu of April being my last and final month of working here at the storage facility, we thought it fitting to take some pictures in the hallways where I've spent countless hours.  I don't know if I've ever really talked about my job.  It's the most glamourous of all the jobs.  Let me tell you.  You see, I shovel dirt, sweep hallways, pull weeds, kill black widows, clean units, man handle tumble weeds, and by the end of the day I'm just about the most tragic sight one ever did see.  Dirt caked in my hair and eyes, slivers in my arms, sand in my tevas all while maintaining office hours from 9:00am to 6:00pm of collecting rent, renting units, etc.  Wren walks in the office most days and says, "Wow Sav, you look hot!"  There have been some days where I literally have been outside in the South Jordan wind (it's ALWAYS windy out here) doing these various chores with tears rolling down my cheeks thinking, Why me?  This is so not up my alley!  But you know what? It's made me a tougher chick, I can handle more now.  I have been thinking about this whole having a boy thing.  I know I have said how I always just assumed I'd have a girl first, but I think we are given unexpected things that we need and will help us grow.  I have always been super girly.  I'm always afraid of getting hurt.  But like the work here, I think having a boy will also toughen me up.  I think me and my little guy will go on many outdoor adventures with Wren and do many more daring things than we would have had we had a girl.  I think it will help Wren and I to grow closer because we will do all of the things he loves to do with our babe.  Because Wren's a boy.  And we're having a boy.  Get it?  A boy!?  Who would have thought?  But I couldn't be happier.  I just love him so so much, I can't even explain.  He's going to be pretty important.  Only about three more months to go.  This pregnancy is flying!
Maybe this is TMI, but right now at 26 weeks, his little baby boy parts will be dropping and I just think it's like the cutest thing ever.
Yes, I will be that mom.

24 Hour Valentines + Link Up!

Hope you're all having a fun Valentines right this second!
Whether you're in a relationship, single and ready to mingle, or hate the holiday.
Hope you're having a good time :)
I am, Wren just made an amazing dinner for us and skipping out on the crowds was just what we both wanted.  Now we're both camped out on the couch in our PJs, watching The New Girl, as I type this post ensuring I get the link up done tonight, not something I am always good at for my Wednesday posts!
So without further ado... here is a little recap of the last 24 hours.

I started this Valentines holiday off right, when on Valentines Eve I went with my girly-friends to see
The Vow.
It was good, but not as amazing as I was expecting it to be.
Always great to be with them though!

Valentines morning, today, I woke up to my special Valentine panicked that he forgot to make a Valentines box for work.
And it was his idea for his department to make them.
So being the domestic wife I am, I whipped up a precious little box for him to gather his goodies in...
He wasn't thrilled that it read, "love Wren"...
But still took it to work to humor his wife :)
I think it's quite fantastic.
You?
Then tonight, Wren made the most delectable dinner...
(He's going to kill me for posting this, but I think he looks so good :)
Poor guy got hot standing by the stove for so long he started to take it all off.)
 Lucky me :)
He made my favorites.
Sweet potato fries and steak.
YUM.
I've got a MEAN chef on my hands.
What a sweetie I've got huh?
Wren liked these pink frosted Valentines cookies more than just friends.
After din, we opened our gifts.
I gave Wren these Japants from Beta Brand that he has been wanting...
And oh my gosh does he look cute in them.
Beta Brand is a company based out of San Fran and it's cool cause these are dress pants but are super comfortable and stylish.  He's in love :)  Your man could be too!?  Check em out.
He gifted me THEIT camera purse that I have been wanting forever...
And modeled it for me like a champ because I look so bad right about now :)
Love the inside of this bag.  No more throwing my camera in my purse and being worried that it's getting all scratched up.

It's been a great 24 hours :)
Love my husband more than I could ever explain.
He understands me more than I understand myself.
And is just about the sweetest person I'v ever met.
As Tatum said to McAdams in The Vow,
"I promise to fiercely love you in all your forms"...
I promise you that Wren :)
CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!
Now don't forget to enter the Wild Juniper giveaway HERE!
CUTEST STUFF EVER!  :)
