I Cut Bangs and My Pillow Shop!

This weekend was truly amazing because all we did was hang out at home.  Saturday, we slept in (heaven), Wren made breakfast, we went to the gym, and then came home and made cinnamon rolls.  After, while Wren edited his mountain bike video (which is basically going to be amazing), I sewed and sewed and sewed.

What am I sewing you ask?  Why I am opening up a pillow shop on Etsy here in the next couple days.  All I have done is cut out fabric and sewed, and sewed zippers, and ironed, and cut off thread, and sewed, and if I see another zipper I promise you I'll bomb it.  If I have to put one more mother f'n zipper in one more mother f'n pillow form, well like I said, I'll bomb it.  BUT hours and hours and a throbbing back later, I am DONE!  Well with the 21 model pillows that is.  SO keep checking back in the next couple days will ya?  I'll let you know once it's up.  But I swear they're super cute pillows made with super cute fabric.  Christmas presents people?  I think so.... :)

Anyway, back to Saturday evening.  After we were done working on our stuff, we hunkered (don't you hate that word?) down and ordered the best pizza I think we ever did order from Dominos, and watched Sister Wives.  Anyone watch it?
GREAT NIGHT.

In other BIG news...
I cut bangs.
I'm still having a minor anxiety attack, but I think I like them.  Wren loves them so that's good.

Here is a picture of the cinnamon rolls we made.
They turned out.... eh.  Which is a bummer considering they took almost a full day when we count all the rising/raising (I don't know what the proper word here would be...I'm embarrassed) it took.
Mhhh.  I'm giving up on dough all together.  Too many unsuccessful memories.

Well, AGAIN, check back during the next couple of days to check out my most time consuming of projects yet... my pillow shop k!?

Oh ya, and how was YOUR weekend?!

Livin On Love and Refried Dreams PLUS ANOTHER LINK PARTY!

So I have been going through some old pictures lately and ran across these little gems that my mom took of Wren and I a couple months before we got engaged.
We were troopers.... it was late October and that water was so cruel and frigid.
I'm surprised we didn't lose a limb.

Don't we look like babies?  My hair is so short... and red?  That's funny, I don't remember having red hair.  Anyway, I love looking back at these pictures.
This was such a fun time in our lives.  It hadn't been long since Wren had returned home from Brazil where he had served a mission for the LDS church.
We had no idea where life was going to take us, but we did know we loved each other... A LOT :)
It's only been 4 years since this picture was taken, and so much has changed in our lives.
So much has happened.
We have both grown so much.
We are definitely blessed.
Let's just say that :)
Stay tuned... next week I will post our engagements.
No one has really seen them, which is weird because I love them.
PS Isn't my mom a fantastic photographer?  You should all use her sometime :)

Whatever.Whenever.Wednesday Link Up Party!
NOW, last week's link up was so fun and I was so excited about all the people who participated in my first one (thank you everyone!), let's do another shall we?
It will be an every Wednesday type of thing, so check back next Wednesday too :)
Again, you can link up WHATEVER from either your blog or Pinterest
OR, to make things fun and give this a genre, I'm supposed to have a genre huh?  You can link up some old school photos like I did above.
I just love seeing pictures from when people were young....blasts from the past, ALWAYS a good time!
AND, guess what else?  Unlike LAST week, I figured out how to do picture thumbnails rather than just a link....
Check me out :)
OH (I'm almost done, and then I'll shut up) I would love for you to visit others who have linked up too and share some comment love.... we all love comments right?  Let's make someone's day!
I can't wait to see what you've made, done, ate, dressed up in (or slept in), or what you did a loooong time ago in old pictures.
So without further ado, link away babies!

Headband-Scarf Tutorial

I love headband scarves like these:

But almost die of an anxiety attack by the day's end from trying to get them to stay on my head.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Scarves are not head friendly I have decided.

SO, the other day I was heading to a swimming party and I wanted to sport a cute scarf headband, but didn't want the annoyance of one.
So I got creative and made this headband in about ten minutes flat...
Wanna know how?  Here you go.....
As I said earlier, this was the quickest project ever.
You could so SO many fun things with it.  You could even make the fabric go much longer than the headband so you could tie it underneath your neck making it appear to be an actual scarf.
Or you could put a flower or bow on it.
And there are so many different cute materials you could use.
Happy head-banding!

Lusting After Short Hair....

Everywhere I look I spy cute short haircuts which makes it oh so tempting to chop mine off.  Yet every time I cut my hair I'm quite sad about it.... But the haircuts below are very tempting, don't you think?

Which one's YOUR favorite?!

Do you THINK I should chop mine?  Be honest.....

PS Look who grew big and joined Pinterest?!  ME!  It truly is awesome, yet a little overwhelming.  There's too many cute things to even process.  If you want, find me there.  Currently I'm a loser :)

Jen's New Pad AND Hair

The other day as I was going to my Yahoo inbox, when an article sparked my interest....  I read that Jennifer Aniston recently purchased a one-bedroom penthouse apartment in NYC's West Village and it looked awesome.  So I went on over to Elle Decor's website and found lots of pictures of this baby and I am in love with it.  It has huge windows, white walls, fabulous decor, and views of the city.  How fun would that be?  You could run down to the corner, get some award winning pizza, bring it back up, and eat it while staring at views of the city.... I know what I want :)

AND, member how I mentioned last week that I always wanted my parents to buy the condo above our condo downtown so we could combine them with a windy staircase?  WELL, this is exactly what Jen is doing (I don't know if with a windy staircase or not) but she bought this 18th floor apartment as well as the apartment below it, on the 17th floor, and is going to connect them together.  AND hopefully with a windy staircase like I always dreamed of (do it for me Jen), for a combined 2,700 square foot pad with an additional 900 square feet of outdoor space.

Look how cute....

This patio would be so fun!  Go outside, drink hot chocolate in the morning, do yoga, take a nap, read a book, cuddle with your honey, the possibilities are just ENDLESS :)

What do ya think?

And, in other important news :) did you see that Jen just died her hair dark?  Do you like it?  It definitely makes her eyes pop.
Do you like it better than this?  I personally love this long bob!
Or perhaps this is still your favorite....
I know my dad loves it :)

Well, I just love Jen because she is always so amazingly personable on Oprah and I think we could be great friends.  In my head we are :)

Have a great Tuesday, aren't you glad Monday is over?  Me too :)

Pretty Hair By Sis. . .

So as most of you may know, i tend to wear my hair in braids a lot. This is only because it seams to be the easiest way to pull my hair back while still looking somewhat decent. I was looking at some blogs the other day tho just for fun and stumbled across one that gave step-by-step instructions on how to do different hair styles. I was super excited because i am in desperate need of some ways to pull my hair back differently when i don't feel like wearing it down. I attempted one of them that i thought was way cute and it turned pretty good. i wanted to post it on here to let all of you know about it so you could give it a shot too. You can find it here, at a Cup of Joe, LOVE her blog!!! You should give it a shot, Good Luck!
I even did it to Sav too, but she said she couldn't hear :)

Rachael's Bangs

We did it, I cut Rache's bangs.  They look so cute on her!  We also cut about three to four inches off the length of her hair as well.  She looks like a new woman.  Those architecture boys at the U are going to be lining up ;)

BEFORE

Yes she was in need of something.  Sorry Rache, but it's the cold, hard truth ;)
Doin the dirty dirty.  I think she almost had a heart attack.  I'm glad she's okay.
AFTER
Look how cute she looks!
Bangs are such a fun way to change up your hair.

Yes I got a little camera happy.
Rache's hair was a little greazy too, so let's just say that her bangs will look even better after a good scrub down ;)

Bangs By Sis. . .

Lately I have been noticing bangs. I used to not be the biggest fan of bangs, probably because I have been traumatized by own bangs multiple times in my life, but mostly from when i was little, if any of you remember, they were like helmet style. However, i have been paying attention to different bang styles and i have taken a liking to the straight across bangs, like the ones i had when i was little, however, if i were to cut them again i would make sure they did not start right on top of my head this time :) So my reasoning for this post is to pose a question to all of you followers out there,
What type of bangs do you think i should cut??? Here are some examples of styles i like.

I really love these ones!
ok this one is a joke i just thought they were funny! haha

Her's might be my favorite.
or hers.

So what do you all think???
